Franco Di Chiera - Director
Franco Di Chiera has written, directed, produced, and executive produced, over 60 hours of television, selling to over 100 broadcasters and licensors around the world. As Film Australia Executive Producer he oversaw the production of award-winning documentaries such as Sadness (1998; Winner Best Documentary Film Critics Awards), and the documentary series Auto Stories. As an SBS Executive he worked on the landmark indigenous package of shorts From Sand To Celluloid. More recently, Franco directed the documentary Hoover's Gold (2005) which attracted the highest-ever rating for SBS's Storyline Australia when broadcast in 2006. He is due to direct the SBS documentary the Fabulous Flag Sisters later this year. Currently at production financing stage, the film will be shot in Italy and Australia.
Ed Punchard, Julia Redwood - Producers
Ed Punchard established Prospero Productions with Julia Redwood in 1991, and together they have worked for ABC Television, Channel 5, Discovery Europe, Film Australia, Channel 9, and Channel 7. Their recent credits include Shipwreck Detectives (Series I and II) a 3 x 60 min blue chip maritime archaeological series that investigates the past and uncovers evidence that throws new light on dramatic moments in time (ABC/ National Geographic/Discovery Canada. 2002 & 2006); Aussie Animal Rescue, (Series I and II) a 13 x 30min dramatic and highly engaging observational series following the dedicated work of wildlife rescuers around Australia (ABC/ Animal Planet. 2002 & 2004); and Snakebuster- a 13 x 30min series that follows Bruce George, a man with a passion for rescuing deadly snakes (Animal Planet 2003). In 2007 Prospero Films will produce/executive produce Eco House Challenge (6 x 25 min) for SBS/Cineflix about two families, four environmental hotspots and one eco coach.
